The past 2 years with the creation of fashoakland and embarking on other life projects, I've discovered more of what I've wanted to do, yet not necessarily how. I have learned new art mediums (printmaking & painting in particular) and I have lots of stuff I haven't added because I've been trying to really decide if I want to be a doctor or an artist.

with added pressure of needing to find a new university after my current one eliminated the program my major is linked to, I have been focusing more on my art and how I can use it for healing and as medicine.

I am in the process of healing myself from a lifetime of chronic pain, mental & physical disability from my genetic disease & childhood sexual abuse. I am in the process of collecting some of my best work for a new blog & website I'm working on to showcase the healing process I've been on since I've gotten out of foster care.

So I know I have been inactive for about 6 years, but I have still been making art. I also have a tumblr, sircynthiamaria.tumblr.com

I took a break from uploading my artwork to take the time to actually cultivate my style, and now I have some more work to actually put up, photos, paintings, poems, etc. I also have a new DA for the art collective I am apart of. So it's been an incredible amount of time since I've actually sat down, gone through my messages, other deviations, notes, etc on this site.

In between my photography class, not having written anything for 3.5 months ('In Theory' is the first poem i've written in 3.5 months!), and balancing my home life, I have finally found the time to really be present here and sort my gallery out.

There should be edits and deletions and uploads coming your way.

Btw, Italy is such a beautiful country. I must go back when I go to college.

So in an hour and a half, I will be making my european voyage.
I will be in Italy for 5 and a half weeks, and I do not know when I'll have continual access to a computer.

I am excited. <3
